The two revolutionaries
In my life, there were many personalities that added their touch to my life. Reading about them, working with them , learning from them them and mixing many things I learnt from them and bringing about new things. Every change that has taken place is remarkable, ... and there is so much more to happen. There'll be many more people to thank in the future, I,m sure .. as time goes on. And among the bundle of inspirations, there are two that stand out and have molded my personality. These two have eastablished a connect in my mind. Both of them show up in my daily life, in the things I do, and the way I behave. There are two of them, they are the two revolutionaries who shaped my thought and way of thinking.
The first personality is one that comes from Britian, from the books of literature and the movies of the time, this character shows up in my talks, and in my way of interaction with people. The Englishman whom i learned from, with all delight is also the first revolutionary who shaped my personality. From being a common lad of India, who was influenced by the colonial times and always cherises his priveledge to having known this character in the settings of British India, where this british influence grew like a garden in the hills of Simla, Mussorie and Darjeeling. The beautiful atmosphere and landscape of these place was appropriate for the beautiful settings of a well groomed culture that brought paradise down on Earth. The people were polite and courteous, and extremely intelligent in their dealings with people and their work spoke of quality and grace of the ages, and had a good blend of work and pleasure. The Englishman, to me was the star of this setting , intelligent and articulate represented a man who was genuine and always striving to improve his standards. In his own way, to make the world a better place. And when he spoke, sucess spoke. Not because he was rich and famous, it was only the way he carried himself with elegance that would make heads turn. He defined the definition of "true cool." He still walks the path of history next to the river of light which leads to the future and will continue to inspire as he has been marked in history through many writers. So he will make his presence felt in many different forms, as the ages advance.
The second personality is great, the one i just love, he comes from my time and he comes from music - the Rocker. The second revolutionary, in all his brightness. More like the prankster rockstar. Saw him on the video, and always see them on the video and enjoy watching them making a mess while cheering my heart. The banging of guitars, the breaking of things on the set, the twisted expressions and the remarkable acrobatics which takes you by surprise, sometimes. And in the world of amazing lyrics where you never know what comes out in a song. This rockstar enjoys the fame, the money and the joy of doing what he likes most. Minus the drugs and addictions. Because if you truly notice the rockstar, if you remove the bad addictions, he is actually a poet, a singer, a dreamer, a journalist who sings, and he could be so much more. If they channel their life and thoughts,imagine the things they could do, and which they have already done by touching many peoples lives with their lyrical wizardry. Beats a DJ who just spins a disc and plays the music without a thought or anything to it, just to...dance. A song like "Mmmmmm" by crash test dummies talks about hard - nosed parents who destroy the self-confidence of their child. and the lyrics play on to this day in your mind in a good , but haunting way. Aerosmith lyrics spoke volumes of his intellect and the creativity he had in his head, which i think is a flourishing stream of imagination. No one can touch him on the drama, colours, performance and drive he brought in his songs, not to mention the creativity and his out-of-the-box thinking. and while you see all the fun going in the song, beneath this layer is a lot of hardwork that goes to make the man, but hardwork that is enjoyed and loved.Facing the challenges and breaking the mold, that is the life of a star who is glowing and hard as a rock.... a rockstar.
Both these personalies continue to amaze me to this day, and will continue to do so. One forms a joint with culture and courtesy, the other connects with breaking free and creativity, also innovation. they both are a complete contrast to each other. But both are unique in their own way, and I get to see the best of both. It is diffuclt to explain, but let me put it across in a simple way. You need to keep your calm, be cool, collected and peaceful. However, you also need to let out a little steam now and then to show that you're calm, not dead.
